Samsung Washer Not Draining – Causes and Fixes
If your Samsung washer is not draining, water may remain in the drum at the end of the cycle. This often prevents the washer from entering the spin cycle and leaves clothing soaking wet.
Drain problems are one of the most common Samsung washer complaints and are usually related to the pump system or a blockage in the drain path.
Common Symptoms
- Standing water remains in the washer
- The washer stops before spin
- A drain error code appears
- The pump hums but water does not move
Most Likely Causes
- Blocked drain pump
- Clogged pump filter
- Kinked drain hose
- Foreign object trapped in the pump housing
What to Check First
Clean the Pump Filter
Samsung front-load washers commonly collect lint and coins in the pump filter area.
Inspect the Drain Hose
Make sure the hose is not kinked behind the washer.
Listen to the Pump
If the pump runs but water does not move, debris may be blocking the impeller.
